There are lots of non-playable character in Genshin Impact. One of them is Paimon. By the way, who is Paimon? What do you know about Paimon? Well, here we are going to share some information related to Paimon that you need to know.
Paimon is a non-playable character in the game of Genshin Impact and accompanies the Traveler throughout their adventure in Teyvat as their guide. Paimon met Traveler by being fished out of the lake in which she says she would have drowned if not being fished out. Currently, she is representing Genshin Impact and also is on the Genshin Impact app, website, and social media icons.
Paimon is cheerful, friendly, but almost a little too honest and often impolite. She explained who she liked, who she likes and what she does not like, for example because she does not like Venti, she makes it quite clear by calling him “Tone-deaf bard”. She supports what she thinks and makes it quite clear.
Paimon has a small body, making her the look of a fairy. Also, she has thick white hair cropped above her shoulders, fair skin and dark purple eyes. She wears a long-sleeved white jumper and a night-blue cape flecked with the stars, and also white stockings with white boots. A Rose-gold embroidery and shapes are attached to her jumper, sleeves and boots. Aside from that, she wears accessories like a dark purple hairpin, and a rose-gold crown which levitates above her head as though it was a halo.
Some things which make no sense about Paimon
Here are some everything you need to know about Paimon:
How’d they end up in the water?
The Traveler first meets Paimon in the game of Genshin Impact by fishing them out of the water by accident. By the way, how’d they get there? As we know that Paimon can fly. Did they mention they were in the water for a while? Does Paimon need to breathe air? One might think that they fell into the lake from somewhere high above, however there is only one landmass in Teyvat that dwells in the sky, and it is Celestia.
Why are not more people in Teyvat freaked out by Paimon?
It would be one thing if every character who met Paimon got freaked out by them and asked about their origin. But, only some characters who actually ask (such as Xiangling and Amber), so why is that? How can those characters not wonder what type of life form Paimon is? It is not like Paimon looks animalistic or alien, they only look like a tiny floating human. Everyone in Genshin Impact are okay with an unknown creature of mysterious origins playing such a big part in the overall story.
How is Paimon connected to the archons and demonology?
Fans have noticed a lot of lore details in Genshin Impact that we are sure the developers of the game were trying to keep hidden. But, a discovery which has gigantic lore implications is that all the Archons in the game found so far (Venti/Barbatos and Rex Lapis/Morax/Zhong Li) have ties to Demonology. In distinctive, they are connected to the 72 Demons named in the Ars Goetia, a mysterious Grimoire on Demonology discovered in the 17th century. Right now two is odd, while three makes a pattern. There is only one other name in the game that relates back to this scripture, it is Paimon.
Paimon is the name of one of the spirits in these texts and describes their abilities as such, they know of all the affairs in the world. They are able to fly and breathe underwater, are able to summon other spirits, and also are able to force visions upon others. All of this describes Paimon very perfectly. Even down to the odd amount of knowledge and also how other spirits keep showing up around her.
How can they eat so much with a tiny body?
In fact, Paimon likes to eat a lot. Xianling and venti comments on it. Even Jean also comments on it. Although Paimon is tiny, but they are constantly talking about the next meal. Also, they are able to eat more food than seemingly possible. So, how can they eat so much with a tiny body? Maybe, as their cape implies, Paimon has several galactic properties. All food which they eat just enters a black hole, and never to be seen again.
Paimon knows everything, even the best-kept secrets
This little sprite seems to know about everything in Teyvat, all the nations, all the Fatui Harbingers, even how several countries were discovered. But, if they are not an Archon or another ageless entity, how do they know so much? The best proof of this by far is once they call Childe or Tartaglia out for being one of the eleven Fatui Harbingers.
Paimon might be the long forgotten archon of the time
Outside of Paimon’s connection to the Demon Paimon, this cute little one also has some serious connections to the Chrono Archon from Kaeya’s homeland. All this upcoming info is discovered deep within codex entries and books inside Genshin, thus it is easy to miss. Kaeya is from Kaenirah, a land which worshipped the Archon/God of Time and was across the sea from Mondstadt. Paimon is discovered in the water near Monstadt and have a symbol on their chest which looks like an upside-down Celtic Knot, which also has ties to the cycle of time as well. Aside from that, right next to where the Traveler and Paimon meet, there is an unmarked island which can be found as part of a secret side-quest relating to the God of Time now forgotten.
What did Paimon have to do with the unknown God?
In fact, Paimon has many connections to the Unknown God. Paimon character and the unknown God have the same hairstyle. Paimon’s hairclip has the same symbol as the portal the Unknown God comes through. Also, they have a galaxy pattern in their capes. Paimon and unknown God are dressed in white and gold. Both interact with time in some methods. Also, they have the Celtic symbol on them (Paimon’s chest and The Unknown God’s cape).
